In the context of a rural Indian environment, education is not easily available and schooling is is de-prioritized in favor of labor in nearby silk factories. Anjana School was started in 2000, is an attempt to fill this educational void by creating an ideal elementary school. The school is recognized by the government of Karnataka. We have created a co-educational school with a very special environment. The school is loved by children, parents, and teachers, and unites the community. The buildings on the campus are built using natural, locally available materials, and with native labor and know-how. The school is run by qualified, concerned, capable and motivated teachers.
