About

Udayan is a Sanskrit word meaning 'Eternal Sunshine'. Udayan Care aims to bring sunshine into the lives of underserved sections of society that require intervention. Registered in 1994 as a Public Charitable Trust, Udayan Care works to empower vulnerable children, women and youth, in 26 cities across 13 states of India. Starting with the establishment of just one small family home (Ghar) for orphaned and abandoned children in Sant Nagar, Delhi in 1996, Udayan Care has spread its work for disadvantaged groups during the last 24 years by establishing more family homes, helping girls' education, providing vocational training etc. To date, Udayan Care has nurtured over 21,000 young minds. This has been made possible only through the support of like-minded people, donors and partners who believed in Udayan Care's work and mission.

Education Consultancy

Nearly 10% of India’s population; about 130 million of 1.2 billion people; are adolescent girls. Although 96% of girls enrol in primary school, only 1 of out of every 100 girls reaches a secondary level of education. According to current transition rates, a girl who enters her final year of primary education (typically Class V) only has a 54% chance of even starting Class XI. Read More
