B.Sc. or M.Sc. Botany professional should have strong knowledge of plant biology, taxonomy, morphology, anatomy, physiology, ecology, genetics, microbiology, biodiversity, and environmental science. Practical laboratory skills, observation ability, research aptitude, data-recording skills, basic statistical understanding, report-writing ability, and good communication skills are valuable for the role. The individual should be patient and detail-oriented, particularly when working with plant specimens, laboratory experiments, field observations, and research data. The ability to work independently as well as within a team, follow scientific procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and learn new techniques is also important.
