Position: TyremanDepartment: Maintenance / WorkshopLocation: Electric Bus DepotReporting To: Workshop Manager / Depot ManagerJob Purpose:To ensure the proper inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of tyres of electric buses to maintain fleet safety, maximize tyre life, and ensure uninterrupted operations.Key Responsibilities:Inspect tyres of all electric buses on a daily basis for wear, damage, cuts, punctures, and air pressure.Carry out tyre removal, fitment, replacement, and puncture repairs as per standard procedures.Check and maintain correct tyre pressure as per OEM specifications before bus deployment.Perform tyre rotation to ensure uniform wear and increase tyre life.Conduct wheel balancing and alignment checks whenever required.Maintain records of tyre usage, replacement, repairs, scrap tyres, and tyre inventory.Identify and report abnormal tyre wear patterns, wheel defects, and suspension-related issues to the maintenance team.Ensure proper storage, stacking, and handling of tyres in the tyre store.Assist in roadside breakdowns related to tyres whenever required.Ensure availability of spare tyres and maintain stock records.Follow all safety procedures while handling buses, lifting equipment, and tyre changing tools.Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of the tyre section and workshop area.Qualification:ITI/10th Pass or equivalent.Certification or training in Tyre Maintenance is a plus.Experience:Minimum 0-3 years of experience in tyre maintenance of buses, trucks, or commercial vehicles.Experience in electric bus operations will be a plusSkills Required:Knowledge of commercial vehicle tyre maintenance.Ability to operate tyre changing equipment and wheel balancing machines.Basic knowledge of workshop safety practices.Good record-keeping and reporting skills.Ability to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):Tyre life achieved (Kilometres).Reduction in tyre-related breakdowns.Fleet availability.Compliance with preventive maintenance schedules.Proper maintenance of tyre records and inventory
