Job SummaryThe CNG Buster Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNG Buster systems and associated equipment used in the City Gas Distribution network within the assigned Geographical Area (GA). The role ensures safe gas pressure management, equipment reliability, and uninterrupted CNG supply to stations and pipeline networks.Key Responsibilities1. Operation & Monitoring Operate and monitor CNG Buster systems and associated equipment. Maintain required gas pressure levels in CNG pipelines and stations. Record daily operational parameters and log sheets.2. Maintenance Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of:o Buster compressorso Valves and regulatorso Pressure gauges and transmitterso Electrical panels and instrumentation Ensure timely servicing and replacement of worn-out components.3. Troubleshooting Diagnose and rectify pressure drop issues, gas leaks, and mechanical faults. Coordinate with engineering teams for major repairs or shutdowns.4. Safety & Compliance Follow HSE guidelines and gas safety standards. Ensure compliance with regulations issued by Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB). Conduct regular leak detection and safety checks.5. Documentation & Reporting Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and incident logs. Report abnormal conditions to the Operations Supervisor immediately.6. Coordination Coordinate with CNG station operators, pipeline teams, and maintenance contractors. Assist during shutdowns, commissioning, and expansion projects in the GA.Required Qualifications ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering Certification in industrial gas safety preferred.Experience 13 years experience in CNG / PNG operations, compressors, or gas pipeline maintenance.Skills & Competencies Knowledge of CNG compressors and pressure systems Basic electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting Understanding of gas safety procedures Ability to work in field conditions and emergency situationsWorking Conditions Field-based role within assigned GA (Geographical Area) May involve shift duties, on-call support, and emergency response
