The Design Engineer Mechanical will work as an individual contributor responsible for executing engineering and product development assignments with limited supervision. The role involves handling design, project coordination, and technical documentation while ensuring projects are delivered within schedule, budget, and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Execute engineering and product/fixture development assignments for small or large projects independentlyDeliver project scope within defined budget, schedule, and quality standardsCoordinate with cross-functional teams including production, electrical, R&D, purchase, and project teamsReview and interpret customer technical specifications and industry codesPrepare Scope of Work (SoW), project charters, work breakdown structure (WBS), and project plansMonitor project progress and present status and progress reportsManage scope changes through proper change management processesFacilitate design reviews with internal teams and customersReview and finalize engineering documents including drawings, specifications, and reportsCoordinate with vendors, contractors, inspection agencies, and internal teamsSupport manufacturing, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning activitiesAssist in technical proposals, engineering bids, and project management improvementsRequired Skills & Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldStrong experience in 3D SolidWorks and mechanical designKnowledge of manufacturing processes, hydraulics, and basic electrical/instrumentation systemsSound understanding of engineering practices, design calculations, and documentationStrong project planning, organizing, and project management skillsAbility to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design documentsExperience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teamsGood communication, presentation, and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of project management tools such as Primavera or MS Project will be an advantageProficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Key Responsibility Area: To provide technical supervision to the Design Office team ensuring that all project tasks are completed on time, to budget and in accordance with the required specification. To co-ordinate all activities relating to the mechanical & EC&I design requirements for bids and proposals and projects include identification, acquisition and logging of technical data, production and maintenance of engineering drawings and parts lists, design schedules, To analyses the engineering and design requirements for bids and proposals and projects and communicate those requirements to the design engineers to produce the engineering layouts and designs. To participate as required in all aspects of the activities of the Design Office, including the production of engineering reports, design calculations, technical. To ensure that all company standards, processes and procedures are adhered to within the Design Office and to assist in the improving the processes and procedures. To provide effective co-operation and communication with other departments within the company, such that problems are resolved promptly and efficiently, and that critical and constructive comments are given equa.. To plan for future resource requirements and undertake authorized recruitment with the engineering Head (in conjunction with HR)..Eligibility Criteria: 5 years experience in a similar position of appropriate responsibility.
