Responsibilities:Lead Design & Development:Lead the entire mechanical design lifecycle for assigned projects, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to detailed design, prototyping, testing, and production handover.Develop innovative and robust mechanical solutions for [Specify products/systems, e.g., industrial machinery, automotive components, consumer products, special purpose machines, jigs & fixtures].Advanced CAD Proficiency:Expertly utilize advanced features of industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, Inventor) for 3D modeling, complex assembly creation, detailed 2D drafting, and BOM generation.Ensure all designs are precise, manufacturable, and meet design specifications.Engineering Analysis & Validation:Perform comprehensive engineering calculations, including stress analysis, tolerance stack-up analysis, kinematic analysis, and fluid dynamics (if applicable).Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other CAE simulations to validate designs, predict performance, and identify potential failure points.Interpret simulation results and incorporate findings into design refinements.Material & Process Selection:Select appropriate materials based on application requirements, environmental conditions, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturing feasibility.Determine and specify suitable manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, forging, welding, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding) for designed components.Prototyping & Testing Oversight:Oversee the fabrication and assembly of prototypes.Design and conduct rigorous testing and validation plans to verify design performance, durability, and compliance with specifications.Analyze test data, troubleshoot design issues, and implement necessary modifications.Documentation & Standards:Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed 2D drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Bill of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, design reports, and test reports.Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM, ASME), safety regulations, and quality management system (QMS) requirements.Project Leadership & Coordination:Manage mechanical design projects, adhering to project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, electrical design, R&D, and supply chain.Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing for smooth production.Mentorship & Guidance:Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior mechanical engineers and designers, fostering their skill development and growth.Participate in design reviews, offering constructive criticism and technical insights.Continuous Improvement & Innovation:Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in design processes, tools, and methodologies.Actively contribute to intellectual property development and innovation within the company.Vendor & Supplier Coordination:Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for component sourcing, material selection, and manufacturing feasibility assessments.Evaluate vendor capabilities and ensure compliance with design specifications.Communication (Local Emphasis):Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences (technical teams, management, vendors). Fluency in Marathi and Hindi is beneficial for effective local team interaction and supplier coordination.
