We are seeking a qualified and attentive OT Staff Nurse to provide safe nursing care before, during and after surgical procedures while supporting surgeons, anaesthetists and the operation theatre team.Key Responsibilities Prepare the operation theatre before scheduled and emergency surgeries. Verify patient identity, consent, medical records and pre-operative checklist. Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgical procedures. Arrange and check surgical instruments, equipment, medicines and supplies. Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection-control standards. Assist surgeons as a scrub nurse or circulating nurse during operations. Count instruments, needles, swabs and surgical materials before and after procedures. Monitor patients vital signs and condition during the perioperative period. Assist the anaesthesia team during induction and recovery when required. Handle, label and dispatch surgical specimens safely. Transfer patients safely to and from the operation theatre and recovery room. Clean, disinfect and coordinate the sterilisation of instruments and equipment. Maintain accurate surgical, nursing and medication records. Respond promptly to emergencies and follow hospital safety protocols. Ensure proper stock management and availability of OT supplies. Requirements GNM, B.Sc. Nursing or an equivalent recognised qualification. Valid nursing registration or licence. OT nursing certification or relevant training is preferred. Previous experience in an operation theatre or surgical unit is desirable. Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilisation and aseptic procedures. Strong attention to detail, communication and teamwork skills. Ability to remain calm and work efficiently during emergencies. Willingness to work rotational shifts, nights, weekends and on-call duties.
