Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development: Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings (GD&T) for parts and mechanisms.Analysis & Simulation: Perform FEA, CFD, tolerance stack-up, and kinematic studies to validate design performance and safety.Documentation & BOMs: Create, manage, and release Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications, and manufacturing documents (ERPs).DFM/DFA: Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to reduce costs and improve production efficiency.Technical Support: Collaborate with vendors, support prototype builds, and provide technical guidance to production teams during assembly.Project Management: Adhere to project timelines, budgets, and technical specifications, often leading Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA). Common QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, AutoCAD).Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (machining, molding, casting), and industry standards (ASME, ISO).
