Job description for Utility operator/technicianUtility operator must be Completed the 3 years course of RAC course Utility operatormust be in-depth knowledge of refrigeration system Utility opeartor able to troubleshoot the problem indepedently. Finding the root cause & remidies for nonrecurrence.2) Utility operator should be familiar with Ammonia refrigiration system Carry out theprecheck before start the chiller & record the same.3) Need to to confirm all the interlocks are healthy before starting the chiller Start &stop the chiller as per SOP.4) Monitored the chiller parameter durring the running & keep record in the log booki.e suction /discharge /oil/intermidiate pressure. Inlet/out let temp. Monitored the anyabnormaities during the running conditions.5) Maintain the temparature as per process requirement. Keep coordination betweenthe production for coming cooling load to prepare in advance. Load & unload thesystem by keeping track of plant load & temparature to avoid run the chillerunnecessarly which affects on power consumption.6) Carried out the maintenance of compressores base on the running hrs as perguide line of the OEM. Keep the record of the same. Charging the ammonia tomaintain the required level of gas in the system Attend the gas leakages of systemon priority. Send the sample of Brine solution /Cooling tower water to Q/C foranalysis & keep the record.7) Maintain the Sp. Gravity of Brine -1.04 Carry out the water treatment for Coolingtower to maintain desired PH/TH/TDS.& record the same. Carry out the preventivemaintenace of pumps as per schedule.8) Keep the stand-by pumps in healthy condition for the emergency requirements.Carry out the filter cleaning of the Nitrogen plant as per schedule.9) Monitored the operation of valves for proper functioning.10) Keep the record of Air pressure/Air temp./N2 pressure & o2 level in log book.Carry uot the Preventive maintenance of Nitrogen Plant as per OEM guidelines.11) Clean the air filter of air compressor daily. Check the oil level /Temp.of screwcompressor/Loading ,unloading hrs & record the same in log book.12) Carry out the Preventive maintenance of Air Compressort as per OEMguidelines. Inspects and performs preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to a wide variety ofmechanical and electronic equipment, e.g., disassembles, cleans, lubricates, and replaces equipmentparts as needed; makes minor mechanical repairs.2. Monitors equipment and takes reading at designated intervals; tracks the status of the system andprepares reports that account for equipment performance.3. Records and reports defects or failures in gas, electricity, or water; immediately responds andreports water and gas.4. Performs laboratory water chemistry testing and chemical treatment for all systems.7. Performs scheduled plant inspections, and records observations in the facility logbook.8. Monitors system performance and starts and stops equipment as required.9. Ensures the plant

- Oversee the efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of all utility systems including boilers, chillers, compressors, refrigeration units, HVAC, water treatment plants, and power distribution systems.- Ensure uninterrupted utility support to production, packaging, warehouse, and administrative operations.- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all utility equipment.- Minimize downtime through timely troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring optimal performance and equipment lifecycle.- Monitor energy consumption (electricity, steam, water, compressed air, fuel) and implement strategies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.- Ensure all utility operations comply with statutory regulations, environmental norms, and safety standards applicable to FMCG facilities.- Maintain documentation, permits, and logs required for inspections and audits, including pollution control, boiler inspections, and water quality testing.- Lead, train, and supervise the utility team, ensuring adherence to safety practices and operational excellence.- Manage service providers, contractors, and equipment vendors; verify work quality and ensure timely availability of spare parts.- Participate in designing and commissioning of utility systems for plant expansions, new product lines, or capacity enhancement projects.- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve reliability and efficiency of utility operations.- Develop contingency plans for utility failures and implement corrective actions to avoid disruptions to production processes.- Ensure availability and proper functioning of critical backup systems such as generators and emergency water supplies.- Maintain accurate records of operating parameters, maintenance activities, breakdowns, and energy usage.- Prepare monthly utility performance reports for management review and continuous improvement.
