A Store and Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the upkeep and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities within a business or organization. This role involves both preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns, ensuring smooth operations and minimizing downtime. They also manage the storage and maintenance of tools, equipment, and spare parts. Key Responsibilities:Preventive Maintenance: Regularly inspecting and servicing equipment to prevent potential failures and extend its lifespan. Corrective Maintenance: Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns promptly and efficiently. Inventory Management: Overseeing the storage, organization, and maintenance of tools, spare parts, and equipment within the maintenance store. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and parts usage. Safety Compliance: Ensuring all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and procedures. Collaboration: Working closely with other engineers, technicians, and production teams to address maintenance needs and improve equipment reliability. Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving complex equipment problems, often involving root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Budget Management: Controlling maintenance costs and optimizing resource allocation. Continuous Improvement: Analyzing equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability. Equipment Installation: Installing new equipment and systems as needed. Emergency Response: Responding to urgent maintenance requests and minimizing downtime during breakdowns. Skills Required:Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and potentially other specialized systems relevant to the industry. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions effectively.
