the role
the sales executive will be a critical member of the commercial team, responsible for expanding cheval bleu's market share, driving sales volume, and managing key retail relationships primarily within the african continent. this role requires a professional with a strong background in fmcg international trade who can navigate complex import/export landscapes and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
key responsibilities
business development: proactively identify, target, and secure new import and retail clients across key african markets, the ., and other targeted countries.
account management: nurture and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients and retail partners to ensure recurring business and client satisfaction.
sales strategy: execute strategic sales plans to achieve company goals, focusing on volume growth, market penetration, and profitability for edible indian products.
market intelligence: monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to provide actionable insights and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
negotiation & contracts: lead sales negotiations, prepare proposals, and manage contractual agreements, ensuring adherence to the companys goal of providing the best price without compromising quality.
communication & reporting: provide regular, detailed sales forecasts, performance reports, and pipeline updates to the director, mr. jagwani.
required qualifications and skills
experience: 45 years of progressive experience in international sales, business development, or key account management within the fmcg or import/export sector.
geographic expertise (mandatory): must have proven experience working with and selling into african countries.
education: bachelor's degree in business, international relations, marketing, or a related field.
language: fluency in french is essential to effectively communicate and negotiate with clients in key african regions.
industry knowledge: deep understanding of fmcg product categories (., packaged foods, oils, biscuits) and the retail distribution landscape.
communication: exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
