role overview
the regional sales manager (rsm) will be responsible for leading, managing, and expanding the sales operations within the delhi ncr region. this role requires a strong focus on driving revenue growth, developing the sales team, strengthening distributor/dealer networks, and achieving sales targets in alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
key responsibilities
sales strategy & planning
develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
forecast monthly/quarterly/annual sales and prepare business plans for the region.
team management
lead, mentor, and motivate the area sales managers (asms), sales officers (sos), and field staff.
conduct regular performance reviews, provide training, and ensure skill development.
business development
expand market presence by identifying new business opportunities, distributors, and retailers.
strengthen relationships with key customers, channel partners, and stakeholders.
channel & distribution management
monitor primary and secondary sales to ensure healthy product movement.
ensure proper stock management, order booking, and timely collections.
implement trade schemes and promotional activities in the region.
market intelligence
track competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market trends.
provide regular feedback and insights to senior management.
reporting & compliance
prepare daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and mis.
ensure adherence to company policies, processes, and ethical business practices.

qualifications & experience

8–12 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in fmcg / dairy / food & beverages.
proven track record of managing regional sales teams and achieving sales targets.
experience in handling distributors, modern trade, and institutional sales will be an added advantage.
