Job Title: Quality Head

Location: Chakan, Pune

Experience: 7-12 years in manufacturing quality (preferably automotive, electrical, or industrial fabrication)

Role Overview

The Quality Head will lead quality assurance and control across Assembly, Machining parts, Aluminium Casting, Zinc Casting, Aluminium Extrusion, Powder Coating / Surface finishing, and Packaging operations. The role demands strong technical depth, customer interface capability, and supplier development skills to ensure consistent product quality and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

· Implement and sustain quality management systems across all production stages.

· Oversee powder coating and surface finishing quality thickness, adhesion, gloss, curing, and visual standards.

· Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF / VDA and customer-specific requirements.

· Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspection for castings, extrusions, and coated assemblies.

· Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and supplier issues.

· Guide suppliers on process capability improvement, coating parameter control, and defect prevention.

· Maintain cordial relationships with domestic and overseas customers, ensuring timely communication and resolution.

· Review and approve PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and MSA documentation.

· Drive continuous improvement projects using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, SPC, and Poka-Yoke.

· Collaborate with production and design teams to ensure DFM/DFA and coating feasibility.

· Supervise packaging quality corrugated box integrity, labeling, and export readiness.

· Prepare and present monthly quality performance dashboards and customer feedback summaries.

Desired Skills & Competencies

· Strong knowledge of machining tolerances, casting defects, extrusion finish, and powder coating process control.

· Familiarity with surface finishing techniques such as anodizing, plating, buffing, and polishing.

· Hands-on experience with CMM/VMM, coating thickness gauges, gloss meters, and adhesion testers.

· Excellent communication and customer handling skills (domestic & overseas).

· Leadership ability to train and mentor quality engineers and inspectors.

· Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel-based dashboards and trend analysis.

Education

· Certification in Quality Management Systems preferred (ISO Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt)
