Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes and systems to ensure that our products/services meet established standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance. This role involves working closely with various departments, analyzing quality data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Quality System Management: Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry standards (., ISO 9001, IATF , AS9100) and regulatory requirements relevant to India.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for quality improvement within manufacturing or service processes. Implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformances and reduce defects.
Quality Planning: Participate in the planning phase of new products or processes, including defining quality standards, inspection methods, and control plans.
Inspection and Testing: Establish and oversee inspection and testing procedures for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure adherence to specifications.
Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis for quality issues, customer complaints, and internal deviations using problem-solving tools (., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram).
Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components. Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier performance as required.
Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documents, inspection reports, and quality metrics. Prepare regular reports on quality performance.
Audit Management: Participate in internal and external quality audits, ensuring audit readiness and addressing audit findings effectively.
Training: Provide training to production and quality control personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and relevant quality tools.
Statistical Process Control (SPC): Utilize statistical methods and tools (., SPC, MSA - Measurement System Analysis) to monitor and control process variations and ensure consistent quality.
Customer Communication: Address customer quality concerns and collaborate with customer service/sales to provide timely and effective resolutions.
Continuous Improvement: Drive and support lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
