*job description: purchase manager (substation equipment)*

we are seeking an experienced *purchase manager* with specialized knowledge in procuring equipment for substations operating at 132 kv and above. the ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the specific equipment required for such high-voltage substations, along with proven negotiation and supply chain management skills.

*key responsibilities:*

- identify and source equipment necessary for the construction and operation of substations (above 132 kv).

- manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to secure the best terms for quality, price, and delivery timelines.

- oversee the procurement process to ensure compliance with industry standards, quality control, and timely deliveries.

- collaborate with engineering, project management, and finance teams to align purchasing strategies with project requirements and budget constraints.

- continuously evaluate suppliers and market conditions to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.

- maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory requirements.

- coordinate logistics and supply chain processes to optimize inventory levels and reduce lead times.

*qualifications:*

- bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.

- 7-10 years of experience in purchasing within the substation/high-voltage industry (132 kv and above).

- strong knowledge of equipment used in substations, including transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, etc.

- excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

- proficiency in supply chain management tools and software.

- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

*preferred skills:*

- familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
