the roles and responsibilities of selected professionals include the following:

• assist in implementing the non-pesticide management (npm) agriculture programme of sps;

• establish ways of improving the participation of small and marginal farmers in agricultural markets so that they get a fair deal in these markets;

• work closely with women farmers and help build strong and vibrant people’s institutions, led by women;

• engage with rural communities and co-ordinate work of the village community, the pris and government agencies;

• assist in the development of training material to be used in the empowerment programme of the baba amte center for people’s empowerment.
