Key Responsibilities
1. Shift Coordination & Machine Loading
Line Setups: Ensure raw materials, components, tools, and setup sheets are ready at each workstation or machine (., CNC/VMC lines, assembly bays) before the shift starts.
Operator Deployment: Allocate daily tasks and target counts to operators and contract laborers as directed by the Senior Supervisor.
Work Tracking: Monitor line speed and hourly production outputs, immediately flagging any drop in targets or machine speed to the senior team.
Shift Logging: Accurately update daily production logs, machine downtime reports, and piece-rate counts at the end of every shift.
2. Material Handling & In-Process Quality
Defect Detection: Perform regular checks on components coming off the line using standard measuring tools (vernier calipers, micrometers, plug gauges) to verify dimensions against drawing sheets.
Rework Management: Immediately stop any machine producing scrap or out-of-tolerance parts; isolate defective material and coordinate with the Quality inspector.
Inventory Moving: Coordinate with storekeepers to ensure parts move seamlessly from raw inventory, through WIP (Work-In-Progress), to the finished goods bay without creating floor clutter.
3. Shop Floor Maintenance & Safety Enforcement
5S Housekeeping: Enforce basic 5S standards across your designated line-ensuring tool racks are neat, aisles are clear, and waste metal/scraps are disposed of properly.
PPE Adherence: Directly monitor and ensure every operator under your supervision wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses).
TPM Support: Ensure machine operators complete their daily basic cleaning and lubrication checklists (Total Productive Maintenance) before turning on equipment.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
Hourly/Shift Production Target: Percentage achievement of the shift's target count.
First-Time Right (FTR) Yield: Minimizing component rejections or operator-driven defects on the line.
Data Accuracy: Correctly and honestly logging shift output sheets, material logs, and operator attendance.
