major roles & responsibilities

oversee daily mining operations

supervise and coordinate activities of mine workers to ensure safe and efficient production.

monitor progress to meet production targets and deadlines.

ensure health & safety compliance

enforce safety protocols and ppe usage in accordance with mine safety regulations (., msha, osha).

conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.

team supervision and leadership

assign tasks to workers, manage shift schedules, and ensure adequate staffing.

provide training and support to improve team performance.

equipment monitoring and maintenance oversight

ensure proper use and maintenance of mining equipment and machinery.

report breakdowns or malfunctions to maintenance teams promptly.

blasting and drilling supervision

oversee controlled blasting and drilling operations following regulatory standards.

ensure safe handling and storage of explosives, where applicable.

production planning and reporting

assist in planning mining operations and optimizing resource extraction.

maintain accurate logs and prepare daily or shift-wise production reports.

environmental compliance

ensure operations adhere to environmental regulations and minimize ecological impact.

support waste management and reclamation activities.

conflict resolution and communication

address worker grievances and resolve on-site issues.

communicate clearly with engineers, managers, and other departments.

emergency response preparedness

lead emergency drills and respond to incidents like collapses or equipment failures.

coordinate evacuation procedures if necessary.
