Fresher hiring for Leather Technician

Role Description

We are seeking a Leather Technologist with a formal degree in Leather Technology or hands-on experience in leather finishing. This role will focus on surface treatments, coatings, performance enhancement, and process optimization for our plant-based leather sheets.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and optimize finishing formulations (water-based PU, bio-based coatings, pigments, additives)

Work on surface performance: abrasion, flex, color fastness, cleanability

Handle coating, spraying, printing, embossing, and coloring processes

Translate traditional leather finishing knowledge to plant-based substrates

Conduct and interpret mechanical & chemical tests (BIS / ISO standards)

Support sampling, trials, and scale-up to commercial production

Maintain SOPs, test reports, and technical documentation

Collaborate with production and R&D teams to improve consistency and quality

Required Qualifications & Skills

Strong knowledge of leather finishing chemistry and processes

Hands-on experience with PU coatings, water-based systems, pigments, and additives

Familiarity with leather testing methods and standards

Ability to troubleshoot finishing defects and performance issues

Preferred Experience

Experience in synthetic leather or coated fabrics

Exposure to bags, footwear, upholstery, or automotive leather

Understanding of sustainability and low-impact finishing systems
