Ground Staff are responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient handling of passengers, baggage, aircraft, and airport operations. They provide excellent customer service while coordinating with airline personnel, security agencies, and airport authorities to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
Key Responsibilities
Passenger Services
Welcome and assist passengers at the airport.
Perform check-in procedures and issue boarding passes.
Verify passenger identity, travel documents, and baggage.
Assist passengers with self-service kiosks and online check-in.
Guide passengers through boarding and arrival procedures.
Handle passenger inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
Provide assistance to elderly passengers, passengers with disabilities, and unaccompanied minors.
Coordinate wheelchair and special assistance services.
Boarding & Departure Operations
Make boarding announcements.
Verify boarding passes and travel documents.
Ensure passengers board according to airline procedures.
Coordinate boarding with cabin crew and flight operations.
Prepare departure documentation.
Ensure on-time departure by following operational schedules.
Arrival Services
Assist arriving passengers.
Guide passengers toward baggage claim and customs.
Handle lost baggage reports.
Coordinate baggage tracing with the baggage department.
Resolve passenger service issues.
Baggage Handling Coordination
Monitor baggage acceptance and tagging.
Ensure baggage complies with airline weight regulations.
Coordinate loading and unloading teams.
Report mishandled or damaged baggage.
Ensure baggage reaches the correct aircraft.
Aircraft Turnaround Support
Coordinate aircraft arrival and departure activities.
Communicate with ramp staff and flight dispatch.
Ensure timely boarding and baggage loading.
Support quick aircraft turnaround.
Monitor service completion before departure.
Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service.
Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
Resolve passenger concerns efficiently.
Explain airline policies clearly.
Assist during delays, cancellations, and schedule changes.
Safety & Security
Follow airport safety procedures.
Comply with airline Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure security regulations are followed.
Report suspicious activities immediately.
Maintain confidentiality of passenger information.
Participate in emergency response procedures.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain passenger records.
Prepare operational reports.
Complete flight documentation accurately.
Record incidents and irregularities.
Coordinate with supervisors regarding operational updates.
Required Qualifications
Education
10+2 (Higher Secondary) - Minimum Qualification
Graduate in any discipline preferred
Diploma or certification in Aviation, Hospitality, or Travel & Tourism is an added advantage.
Experience
Freshers are welcome.
0-3 years of experience in aviation, airlines, airports, hospitality, retail, or customer service is preferred.
