Fabric Merchandiser (1-3 Years)

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Fabric Merchandiser with 2-3 years of experience in both knits and woven fabrics. The ideal candidate should have a strong textile background, good market knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with mills, suppliers, and

internal teams to ensure timely sourcing and development of fabrics.

Key Responsibilities

1) Handling complete knit fabric merchandising process from development to bulk

2) Handling fabric development, sampling, and approvals

3) Coordination with mills/suppliers for pricing, quality, lead time, and deliveries

4) Follow-up on lab dips, strike-offs, bulk production, and testing

5) Monitoring fabric quality parameters and ensuring compliance with buyer standards

6) Negotiation with suppliers for cost optimization

7) Maintaining fabric records, approvals, and documentation

8) Coordination with production, planning, and design teams

9) Ensuring on-time fabric availability to meet production timelines

Key Skills & Competencies

1) Graduate/Diploma in Textile Technology or related field

2) 2-3 years of relevant experience in fabric merchandising (Textile background preferred)

3) Strong knowledge of knit & woven fabric construction, GSM, blends, dyeing & finishing

4) Understanding of textile processes and fabric quality standards

5) Good communication and negotiation skills

6) Vendor management and follow-up capability

7) Ability to work under deadlines

8) Basic knowledge of costing and fabric consumption

9) Proficiency in MS Excel
