perform troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of marine electrical and automation systems onboard vessels and shipyards.
install, configure, and commission:
navigation systems (radar, gyro compass, gps, ecdis, autopilot)
communication systems (vhf, mf/hf, gmdss, satcom)
engine room automation and monitoring systems (ams, plc, i/o systems, control panels)
electrical distribution equipment (switchboards, mccs, transformers, breakers)
conduct fault diagnosis using test instruments (multimeters, loop testers, oscilloscopes, etc.).
perform wiring, cable routing, termination, and panel assembly as required.
read and interpret technical manuals, electrical drawings, p&id, and system schematics.
prepare service reports, job completion notes, and update documentation.
coordinate with ship crew, shipyards, and internal teams for smooth execution of work.
travel to shipyards, offshore anchorage, customer sites as required (short notice work possible).
minimum 4+ years hands-on experience in marine electrical/automation field.
strong knowledge of marine navigation, communication, or engine room automation systems.
ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve faults onboard.
good understanding of control circuits, sensors, plc logic, relays, and signal loops.
familiarity with brands such as furuno, jrc, raytheon anschütz, sperry, sailor, skipper, yokogawa, siemens, hmi/scada, etc. is an advantage.
comfortable working onboard vessels, engine rooms, and shipyards.
ability to work under pressure and meet operational timelines.
