Responsibilities
Conceptualization & Design:
Develop design concepts and specifications based on project requirements, customer needs, and market trends.
Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of components, assemblies, and products using CAD software.
Perform calculations to ensure structural integrity, functionality, and performance of designs.
Select appropriate materials, considering properties, cost, and manufacturing feasibility.
Analysis & Optimization:
Conduct engineering analysis (., stress analysis, FEA - Finite Element Analysis, kinematic analysis) to validate designs and optimize performance.
Identify potential design flaws or areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions.
Participate in design reviews, providing technical insights and receiving feedback.
Prototyping & Testing Support:
Collaborate with the prototyping team to build and test design prototypes.
Analyze test results and implement design modifications as necessary to achieve desired performance.
Documentation & Standards:
Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including bill of materials (BOM), engineering change orders (ECO), and technical specifications.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Maintain organized design files and version control.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with manufacturing, production, quality, and sales teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet market demands.
Communicate design intent and technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Provide technical support during the manufacturing and assembly phases.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest design tools, engineering technologies, and industry best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the design and engineering department.
