karya is a mobile-first platform revolutionizing digital work by providing ai-enabled data work opportunities to low-income and rural communities. project vaani is an initiative to collect and preserve diverse indian languages and dialects, ensuring inclusivity in digital technologies. by training ai models with this data, we aim to make digital platforms accessible to speakers of all indian languages.
role: community coordinator
we are seeking dedicated community coordinators to onboard users and facilitate their participation in project vaani.
key responsibilities:
user identification: identify and onboard diverse users (ages 20-70) from marginalized communities, ensuring a 50:50 gender ratio.
training and onboarding:
conduct training sessions to understand the project and tasks.
onboard users by helping them install the karya app, complete profile tasks, and record sample audio tasks.
task assistance:
guide users in completing 10 sample recordings and the remaining 50 tasks.
ensure users adhere to task guidelines (., no multiple ids for one person).
data accuracy: enter accurate user details (language, pin code, etc.) into the platform.
support: provide ongoing assistance to users to ensure task completion and resolve issues.
eligibility criteria:
must be a long-term resident of the district.
aged between 18-70 years.
access to an android smartphone.
ability to train and manage multiple users.
skills and attributes:
strong communication and interpersonal skills.
ability to work with diverse communities.
basic digital literacy and familiarity with android smartphones.
