As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, constructing, and maintaining infrastructure projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, water supply systems, and other civil structures. This role involves conducting site investigations, preparing detailed engineering designs, managing project execution, ensuring quality control, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards. You will work closely with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
Responsibilities
Design & Planning:
Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and surveys to gather data for project design.
Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for various civil structures using relevant software (., AutoCAD, Revit, , ETABS).
Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with relevant building codes (., Indian Standards IS codes).
Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and cost estimates.
Project Management & Execution:
Oversee and manage construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
Supervise and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
Ensure effective utilization of materials, equipment, and manpower.
Quality Control & Assurance:
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of construction and material quality.
Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.
Review and approve materials and workmanship, ensuring they meet project requirements.
Cost Management:
Assist in preparing bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates.
Monitor project expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
Prepare progress reports and payment certifications for contractors.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, guidelines, and best practices on construction sites.
Promote a culture of safety among all project personnel.
Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with relevant local and national building codes, environmental regulations, and legal requirements.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design calculations, drawings, daily progress reports, quality control records, and as-built drawings.
Prepare and submit regular project reports to management and stakeholders.
Collaboration & Communication:
Liaise effectively with clients, architects, structural engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Attend project meetings and present technical information clearly and concisely.
