key responsibilities
1. installation and commissioning: install and commission cctv systems, including cameras, recorders, and monitors.
2. maintenance and repair: perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing cctv systems, including troubleshooting and fault-finding.
3. system configuration: configure cctv systems, including setting up cameras, recorders, and monitors.
4. testing and quality assurance: test cctv systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meet client requirements.
5. client support: provide technical support and training to clients on cctv system operation and maintenance.
6. documentation: maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs, including system configurations and technical notes.
7. team collaboration: work collaboratively with other technicians and engineers to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects.
requirements
1. experience: minimum 2-3 years of experience as a cctv technician.
2. technical qualifications: relevant technical qualifications, such as city & guilds or btec in electrical/electronic engineering.
3. cctv knowledge: in-depth knowledge of cctv systems, including ip and analog cameras, recorders, and monitors.
4. problem-solving skills: excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and fault-find cctv systems.
5. communication skills: good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical clients.
6. physical ability: ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, and to lift and carry heavy equipment.
preferred qualifications
1. manufacturer certifications: certifications from cctv manufacturers, such as hikvision or axis.
2. networking knowledge: knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including tcp/ip and poe.
3. project management: experience with project management tools and techniques, such as agile or waterfall.
