Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and technically sound Field Sales Representative to drive B2B sales of solar mounting structures and related balance-of-system components. The role focuses on building strategic relationships with solar project developers, EPC contractors, and large integrators, managing the sales cycle from project identification to contract closure, and ensuring alignment between customer needs and company capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Client Acquisition

Identify and target key EPC companies, project developers, and government or corporate solar clients.

Track upcoming tenders, project announcements, and industry news to generate qualified leads.

Conduct site visits, client meetings, and technical presentations to establish the company as a preferred vendor.

2. Project & Account Management

Develop a deep understanding of each clients business model, technical requirements, and procurement processes.

Support customers through the entire project lifecyclefrom initial design input to final structure delivery.

Coordinate closely with internal teams (Design, Estimation, Procurement, and Operations) for timely proposal submissions and order fulfilment.

3. Sales Execution & Negotiation

Prepare techno-commercial offers based on project requirements and site conditions.

Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contractual obligations in line with company policies.

Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets while maintaining healthy margins.

4. Relationship Management

Build and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers, procurement heads, and project engineers within target accounts.

Facilitate repeat business by ensuring consistent quality, service, and responsiveness.

Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to strengthen market presence.

5. Market Intelligence & Reporting

Monitor competitor activities, emerging technologies, and pricing trends in the solar structures domain.

Provide actionable insights and feedback to management for product and strategy refinement.

Maintain a structured database of prospects, pipeline status, and sales performance using CRM tools.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: ./ in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering (preferred); MBA in Marketing is an added advantage.

Experience:

o 37 years of B2B sales experience in the solar energy, steel fabrication, or industrial infrastructure sectors.

o Proven track record of selling to EPCs and developers in the renewable energy domain.

Technical Competence:

o Sound understanding of solar project design, mounting structures, and installation challenges.

o Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.

Professional Skills:

o Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

o Strategic thinking with a consultative sales approach.

o High degree of ownership, accountability, and self-motivation.

Other Requirements:

o Willingness to travel extensively to project sites and client offices.

o Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.

Performance Metrics

Achievement of quarterly and annual sales targets.

Number and quality of EPC/developer relationships established.

Conversion rate of project opportunities to confirmed orders.

Contribution to repeat and strategic account growth.

Accuracy and timeliness of market intelligence reports.

Compensation:

Attractive fixed salary + performance-based incentives + travel allowance + business expense reimbursements.
