about the role

we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to join our finance team in bangalore. the ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of hands-on experience in accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, with strong knowledge of indian accounting standards and taxation.

key responsibilities

- manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.

- prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements.

- handle gst, tds, and other tax filings accurately and on time.

- support audits (internal, statutory, and tax) and ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks.

- monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

- reconcile bank statements and oversee payroll accounting.

- implement and maintain accounting systems, processes, and controls.

- collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights for decision-making.

required qualifications & skills

- bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, or finance (ca/icwa/cpa preferred but not mandatory).

- 4-8 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in mid-to-large organizations.

- strong knowledge of indian gaap, taxation laws, and compliance requirements.

- proficiency in accounting software (tally, sap, oracle, or similar erp systems).

- advanced ms excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

- excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

preferred attributes

- experience in handling multi-sector accounts (it, energy, aviation, healthcare, etc.).

- exposure to international accounting standards (ifrs) is an added advantage.
