Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in food preparation: The Commis Chef will assist the senior chefs in preparing ingredients, cooking, and plating dishes.
2. Maintain cleanliness: Ensure the kitchen area is clean and organized at all times to meet safety and sanitation standards.
3. Follow recipes: Follow recipes and cooking techniques as directed by the head chef to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
4. Stock management: Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies and informing senior chefs of any shortages.
5. Learn new skills: Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge by learning from experienced chefs and attending training sessions.
Required Skills and Expectations:
1. Diploma in culinary arts: A diploma in culinary arts or a related field is required to qualify for the position.
2. Basic cooking knowledge: Some experience in food preparation and cooking is preferred, but fresh graduates are also welcome.
3. Attention to detail: The ability to follow recipes accurately and pay attention to detail when preparing and plating dishes.
4. Team player: Must be able to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and follow instructions from senior chefs.
5. Good physical stamina: The role may involve standing for long periods and lifting heavy pots and pans, so good physical stamina is important.
