Grind external or internal cylindrical tapered surfaces.Remove metal by the application of abrasives which are bonded to form a rotating wheel.Rough and finish flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces.Read and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints.Determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.Collect and assemble required products.Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.Mount grinding wheel.Dress wheel according to specifications.Use dressing devices.Position work rest to specified height.Lift or hoist workpieces.Confirm ground workpiece has the correct specifications.Change worn grinding wheels.Check grinding wheels for cracks.Utilize micrometers, calipers, and preset gauges.Set up automatic work-feeding device.Use proper wheel guards on all grinding machinesGrind nonmetallic materials.Observe machine during operation.
Roles and Responsibilities- 3 Axis/ 4 Axis / 5 Axis / GROB operators required.- Set-up computerized machines to perform machine functions on work piece Input control instruction into the machine.- Evaluate program blueprints to outline machine operations and dimensions.-Install machine tools and gadgets using manual working tools.- Replace old machine tools when worn-out with new ones- Make use of network links to ensure transmission of a command fromcomputer servers to computer numerical control modules- Take accurate measurements of workpiece and gauges for production- Carry out maintenance measures to ensure the good condition of machines- Change or replace switches and cylinders- Good knowledge of set-up and operation- Good knowledge of blueprints and micrometers- Good knowledge of edits and G-Codes, M-Codes- Have basic knowledge of production materials
