OverviewThe Aircraft Maintenance Department is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness, safety, and operational reliability of an airlines fleet. The department performs routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft systems and components in compliance with aviation regulations and manufacturer guidelines. The team ensures that aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards, supporting on-time flight operations.Key Responsibilities Maintenance & RepairsPerform scheduled (line and base) maintenance, inspections, and preventive checks.Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and avionics systems.Repair or replace defective aircraft components in accordance with manufacturer manuals.Conduct engine checks, landing gear maintenance, and structural inspections.Maintain aircraft interiors, including seating, cabin systems, and emergency equipment. Documentation & ComplianceMaintain detailed records of maintenance activities, defects, and repairs.Ensure compliance with aviation regulations (DGCA, FAA, EASA, etc.) and airline SOPs.Prepare reports for regulatory audits and inspections.Ensure proper documentation of part replacements and maintenance logs. Safety & Quality AssuranceMonitor aircraft systems for potential issues and perform proactive maintenance.Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations.Participate in safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.Report hazards, non-conformances, or technical issues promptly. Team CoordinationCoordinate with flight operations, ground staff, and technical control teams.Assist engineers and technicians during troubleshooting or major repairs.Support training and mentoring of junior maintenance staff. Technical & Operational SupportPerform software updates and troubleshooting for avionics and onboard systems.Test aircraft systems to verify proper functioning after maintenance.Recommend improvements in maintenance procedures and processes.Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and equipment for maintenance operations.Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills:Strong knowledge of aircraft systems (avionics, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics)Proficiency in maintenance software and diagnostic toolsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematicsKnowledge of aviation safety standards and regulatory requirementsSoft Skills:Problem-solving and analytical thinkingAttention to detail and high level of accuracyTeamwork and effective communicationAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesPersonal Attributes:Commitment to safety and qualityReliability, discipline, and professionalismAdaptability to shift work and emergency maintenance situationsEducational QualificationsDiploma or Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME)Certifications in Aircraft Maintenance and Repair (DGCA-approved AME license for India, FAA/EASA certifications for international roles)ExperienceEntry Level: Freshers with relevant educational background and training may apply.Experienced: 06 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, line/base maintenance, or technical operations preferred.Work EnvironmentHangars, maintenance bays, and airport operational areasExposure to aircraft engines, hydraulics, and avionics systemsShift-based schedules, including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outsAdherence to strict safety protocols and PPE requirements

Responsibilities:- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on aircraft to ensure they are functioning properly and safely- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with aircraft systems and make necessary repairs- Conduct inspections and evaluations of aircraft to identify any potential problems or issues- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed on aircraft- Follow all safety and maintenance procedures and regulations set by the aviation industry- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure all work is completed efficiently and accurately
