The job is about providing engineering support to various PDCs within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions in Current Product Engineering, New product Development Engineering and Order based Engineering activities.The main responsibilities are as follows:Collaborate with product and engineering departments to understand company needs and devise possible solutions.Keep up to date with the latest technology trends.Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers.Involved in design & developing underground mining equipments.Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design.Creation of BOM / ECN for release of drawings for productionPerform design calculations for design verificationDevelop sub-system designs and make component selectionsPerform engineering related activities like supplier interaction, field visitsProvide engineering support to sourcing / production teamsStrong in Fundamental Mechanical EngineeringStrong in Mechanics & Design calculationsCreative thinker & this should lead to applying Patents for the CompanyStrong in material selection depending on the application, fix proper heat treatment process, GD&Ts
