The role involves preparing detailed engineering drawings, supporting production teams, and ensuring all designs meet cost, safety, and quality standards.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand owner/client requirements and prepare detailed engineering drawings accordingly.Design machinery and conveyors, including bucket elevators, chain conveyors, screw conveyors, and belt conveyors.Develop 2D drawings using AutoCAD and perform 3D modelling.Prepare:Fabrication drawingsAssembly drawingsPart drawingsCreate BOQs, material lists, and laser cutting lists for production.Support cost estimation by calculating material quantities and approximate weights.Coordinate with the production supervisor to resolve drawing-related queries.Support R&D initiatives and contribute to product improvement activities.Ensure all designs comply with cost efficiency, safety, and quality standards.Maintain drawing number systems and manage revision control.Keep all drawings properly organised in project-wise folders.Required Skills & QualificationsB.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.36 years of experience in mechanical design (machinery/material handling).Strong proficiency in 3D design software and AutoCAD.Good understanding of fabrication, welding, and machining processes.Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.Preferred SkillsExperience in rice milling, food processing, or grain silo equipment.Exposure to conveyor design.Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.ERP experience (Biziverse preferred).Work EnvironmentLocation: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India (occasional site visits).Working Days: Monday to Saturday.Reporting To: Head Engineering.BenefitsPerformance incentives.Strong career growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding company.Opportunity to work on innovative machinery and engineering projects.Supportive, growth-focused work culture.End-to-end exposure from design to commissioning.Note:1.
