An EDM wire job, also known as a Wire EDM Operator position, involves setting up, programming, and operating high-precision Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) wire machines to create intricate metal parts by precisely cutting with a thin wire electrode, requiring a high level of attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to read blueprints and interpret complex design specifications; Key duties of an EDM wire operator:Machine setup:Load workpieces onto the machine using appropriate fixtures. Select and install the correct wire diameter based on the part geometry. Set up machine parameters such as spark gap, wire feed rate, and cutting speed according to the job specifications.
