A Primary Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction to students in early grades (typically ages 511). The role involves fostering a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports students academic, social, and emotional growth.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & LearningPlan, prepare, and deliver structured lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning objectives.Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.Integrate literacy, numeracy, science, and creative subjects into age-appropriate activities.Assess student progress through assignments, tests, observations, and informal evaluations.Provide timely feedback to students and help them develop self-confidence and independence.Classroom ManagementCreate a positive and well-organized classroom environment.Establish clear rules, routines, and expectations to maintain good behaviour.Manage social interactions and resolve conflicts constructively.Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.Student SupportIdentify learning needs or challenges and differentiate instruction accordingly.Support students emotional, social, and behavioural development.Work with special education staff, counsellors, or support teams when necessary.Collaboration & CommunicationCommunicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and behavior.Collaborate with other teachers, assistants, and school staff on curriculum planning and school activities.Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
