The team works on high-performance R&D programs for established industry partners, including select defense applications.Role OverviewThe Mechanical Design Engineer Intern will work closely with the engineering team on the design, analysis, and development of motor and powertrain components. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering, combining CAD modeling, simulation, and prototype development in a fast-paced R&D environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of motor components and assemblies using 3D Modelling software.Perform simulations and engineering analyses using ANSYS to validate and optimize designs for structural integrity, thermal performance, and efficiencySupport the design and development of axial flux motor systems and related powertrain componentsAssist in prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvements based on real-world performance dataParticipate in design reviews and contribute to engineering decisions with data-driven insightsEnsure designs comply with relevant safety, quality, and manufacturing standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, technicians, and manufacturing partners to resolve design challengesDocument design processes, test results, and technical findingsStay updated with emerging technologies, materials, and tools in mechanical and motor designRequirementsProficiency in 3D CAD Modelling.Working knowledge of ANSYS or similar simulation toolsStrong understanding of mechanical design fundamentalsInterest in electric vehicles, motor design, or powertrain systemsProblem-solving mindset with attention to detailAbility to work in a collaborative, fast-paced R&D environmentPreferred QualificationsExposure to motor design (especially axial flux motors)Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material selectionBasic understanding of thermal and structural analysisWhat You Will GainHands-on experience in advanced motor and powertrain designExposure to real-world R&D and high-performance engineering projectsOpportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including defense applicationsMentorship from experienced engineers in a highly technical environmentThis internship may lead to a full-time employment opportunity subject to performance evaluation and availability of suitable roles.Location: Pune, IndiaDuration: 6 MonthsWork Location: In person
