Job Summary:*The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, while reporting directly to a Chartered Accountant within the firm.*Responsibilities:** *Financial Reporting:** Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.* Generate and interpret financial reports for management review.* Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.* *General Ledger Management:** Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.* Ensure accuracy of journal entries and supporting documentation.* Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.* *Tax Compliance:** Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns (GST, Income Tax, etc.).* Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.* Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.* *Bank Reconciliations:** Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.* Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.* *Accounts Payable/Receivable:** Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.* Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.* Monitor and manage outstanding receivables.* *Audit Support:** Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.* Ensure compliance with audit requirements.* *Tally Management:** Expertly utilize Tally software for financial data entry, reporting, and analysis.* Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data in Tally.* *Team Leadership/Mentorship (If applicable):** Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.* Review and approve work performed by junior staff.
