Job Summary:*
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team, while reporting directly to a Chartered Accountant within the firm.
*Responsibilities:*
* *Financial Reporting:*
* Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
* Generate and interpret financial reports for management review.
* Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
* *General Ledger Management:*
* Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
* Ensure accuracy of journal entries and supporting documentation.
* Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
* *Tax Compliance:*
* Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns (GST, Income Tax, etc.).
* Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
* Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
* *Bank Reconciliations:*
* Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
* Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
* *Accounts Payable/Receivable:*
* Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
* Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
* Monitor and manage outstanding receivables.
* *Audit Support:*
* Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
* Ensure compliance with audit requirements.
* *Tally Management:*
* Expertly utilize Tally software for financial data entry, reporting, and analysis.
* Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data in Tally.
* *Team Leadership/Mentorship (If applicable):*
* Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
* Review and approve work performed by junior staff.
