HARVELs foray into the Irrigation industry coincided with the gradual ebbing of the tide of green revolution in mid eighties. Vast unending tracts of land across states were fighting for limited water resources, fated to low productivity and decreasing returns. Only use of technology and innovative irrigation practices could have remedied the situation somewhat. It is at this juncture that HARVEL entered the agriculture irrigation market with its first offerings of Sprinkler Systems in the northern state of Haryana. In a trend setting move, way back in 1982, HARVEL introduced PE based Sprinkler System in a market monopolized by Aluminium based Sprinkler Systems and with the enterprising zeal of its promoters and an effective product range, soon HARVEL was able to capture a lions share of the market in the area of its operations. Gradually the company started adding a host of Irrigation Products to its ever increasing product offerings to target specific market segments. In a parallel move, the company sought out and joined hands with leaders in irrigation technology worldwide to stay abreast of the technological advances being made and in an conscious effort to bring the best technology to India, and over the years HARVEL has molded a name for itself in the urban Irrigation. HARVEL has always been at the forefront of upgrading its knowledge base by keeping track of new developments in the global irrigation arena and is therefore an active and regular participant in national/international exhibitions and events, in addition to being an active member of premier national forums like Irrigation Association of India.
