A waiter (or server) acts as the primary point of contact between guests and the kitchen, responsible for creating a positive dining experience by greeting guests, taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages, managing payments, and maintaining a clean, sanitized dining area.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Customer Service: Greeting guests warmly, escorting them to tables, and presenting menus.

Order Taking: Answering questions about menu items, ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods, as well as providing recommendations.

Service Delivery: Delivering food and beverages from the kitchen/bar to guests in a timely manner.

Table Maintenance: Clearing dirty dishes, sanitizing tables, and resetting them for new guests.

Communication: Relaying accurate orders to kitchen staff, coordinating with bartenders, and reporting any issues.

Payments: Presenting checks, processing cash or card transactions, and handling tips.

Safety/Hygiene: Adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting environment.
