key responsibilities:
1. procurement & vendor management
develop and manage sourcing strategies for critical automation components (., plcs, sensors, drives, robotic arms).
identify, qualify, and maintain relationships with global and local suppliers.
negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement.
monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
2. planning & forecasting
work closely with the sales, engineering, and production teams to develop demand forecasts.
implement and oversee mrp (material requirements planning) systems to align procurement and production.
coordinate production schedules to meet customer deadlines and project timelines.
3. inventory & warehouse management
optimize inventory levels to balance availability and working capital.
implement lean inventory practices and just-in-time (jit) systems where applicable.
monitor and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
ensure proper storage and handling of high-value and sensitive automation components.
4. logistics & distribution
manage inbound and outbound logistics, including international shipments.
ensure compliance with trade regulations and documentation requirements.
collaborate with logistics partners to reduce lead times and freight costs.
5. process improvement & automation
lead supply chain digitization efforts and drive automation of procurement and inventory processes.
analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
implement kpis and dashboards to monitor performance across the supply chain.
6. cross-functional collaboration
coordinate with engineering and r&d for sourcing new components during product development.
partner with quality assurance to ensure supplier compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
collaborate with finance to manage budgets and cost control.
qualifications:
bachelors degree in supply chain management, engineering, industrial management, or related field.
mba or equivalent post-graduate qualification is a plus.
7+ years of supply chain experience, preferably in the automation, electronics, or industrial equipment sectors.
strong knowledge of erp/mrp systems (., sap, oracle, microsoft dynamics).
experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
