Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Manager with a strong backgroundin Structural Engineering to oversee and manage the design process for complex projects. Theideal candidate will bridge the gap between design aesthetics and structural integrity, ensuringthat design objectives are met while adhering to engineering standards and regulatory
requirements. The Design Manager will work closely with architects, engineers, and clients todeliver projects on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Management:
o Lead and manage the overall design process, from concept to completion, ensuring seamless collaboration between architecture, engineering, and
construction teams. o Coordinate design reviews, approvals, and submissions with relevant stakeholders. o Ensure design deliverables meet client expectations, project objectives, andcompliance with industry standards. o Oversee the integration of innovative design solutions while maintaining
structural feasibility. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, mechanical
engineers, and project managers. o Manage design changes and ensure proper documentation is updated accordingly. 2. Structural Engineering:
o Provide technical leadership on structural engineering aspects of projects, ensuring designs meet safety, stability, and performance standards. o Develop structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications, while
considering building codes, material properties, and environmental factors. o Perform feasibility studies, load assessments, and risk analysis for proposedstructural systems. o Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to address any structural
issues during the construction phase.
o Ensure cost-effective, sustainable, and innovative structural solutions. 3. Project Management:
o Create and manage design schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. o Monitor project timelines, ensuring key milestones are met and projects remainontrack. o Lead regular design coordination meetings with project stakeholders and clients. o Ensure compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, andenvironmental sustainability goals. 4. Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers and engineers, providing technical
guidance and performance feedback. o Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaborationwithinthe design team. o Identify and support opportunities for professional growth and development for
team members. Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering . A Master's degree in or certification Structural
Engineering / Architecture or certification Design Management is preferred. Experience:
o 7+ years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 3 years in a designmanagement role. o Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary design teams on large-scale
construction projects. o In-depth knowledge of building materials, structural systems, and engineeringdesign software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, etc.). Skills:
o Strong project management and leadership abilities. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectivelywithclients, teams, and stakeholders. o Proficient in structural analysis and design software. o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks andmeetingdeadlines. o Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and sustainability practices.
