Software Developer (Male)

Total Responsibilities

• A key engineering role in the development of complex, multi-tiered and distributed web-based software applications. Required to work with variety of technologies whist providing guidance and support to the ream in an agile environment with a strong focus on software engineering best practices, incremental delivery, continues integration and test-driven development.

• The design and development of enterprise-grade, mission-critical products, and solutions for one of the world’s largest corporations.

• Produce high quality, high stability code and designs by following software engineering best practices.

• Work collaboratively in a cross functional team in an Agile delivery environment.

• Be involved in projects throughout their full software lifecycle: from development, QA, and deployment to post-production support

• Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle

• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions

Software Developer: Qualifications & General Criteria

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent,

• Minimum Five (5) years of experience in developing production enterprise applications.

• A Programming (.net, C#, VB, ) and software engineering background.

• Experience in Agile Software practices

• Retail and Wholesale Domain knowledge and development experience is an added advantage

• Strong knowledge in fundamental web-based technologies, protocols, techniques, and popular open-source libraries: HTTP, HTML5, JavaScript, Java etc.

• Hands on experience and experience on RDBMS (MS SQL, MYSQL, DB2 , Oracle etc) technologies and Big data Architecture

• Adherence to engineering standards and best practices

• Strong communication skills, reading & comprehending documents/specifications, producing clear and thorough documentation, ability to converse fluently and explain technical issues during meetings

• Oracle Fusion experience and AS400 knowledge and experience is an added advantage

• Proven experience for past projects

• Excellent communication and client facing skills.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with quick learning on the job

Depending on the experience, the candidate will either report to Team Leader Development, or Group IT Manager.
