Job Description Senior Design Engineer

Job Purpose
To lead and execute design activities for metal components and assemblies, optimize designs for manufacturability, and drive continuous improvement using AutoCAD and Kaizen methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Create and review detailed AutoCAD drawings for metal parts and assemblies.
Design sheet metal, fabrication, welding, and machined components.
Lead design reviews and ensure manufacturability and cost optimization.
Coordinate with production, quality, purchase, and sales teams.
Handle customer drawings, RFQs, and technical discussions.
Implement Kaizen initiatives to improve design efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes.
Support tooling development, jigs, and fixtures.
Guide and mentor junior design engineers.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and industry standards.
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & basic 3D preferred).
In-depth knowledge of metal manufacturing processes.
Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and BOMs.
Practical knowledge of Kaizen, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement tools.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Leadership and team coordination skills.
Qualifications
BE / BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
Experience
510 years in design engineering within the metal manufacturing industry.
