position summary
the security guard plays a critical role in maintaining safety, discipline, and access control within platinum hospital pvt. ltd. the role includes monitoring hospital entry points, managing patient-attendant movement, safeguarding property, and responding to emergency situations while ensuring a secure and patient-friendly hospital environment.
key responsibilities
1. access control & premises security
- monitor main gate, opd/ipd entry, staff entrances, emergency unit and restricted access zones.
- maintain proper verification of visitors, attendants, vendors & material movement.
- ensure no unauthorized entry into icu, nicu, ot, pharmacy, server room, and sensitive areas.
- conduct regular patrolling of floors, wards, parking and hospital perimeter.
2. visitor & patient flow management
- guide patients to opd, diagnostic areas, billing, wards politely and clearly.
- maintain discipline in waiting areas and control crowd movement at peak hours.
- enforce visiting hours and number-of-attendant restrictions per hospital policy.
- support vip patient and ambulance movements smoothly and respectfully.
3. safety & emergency response
- respond actively to code red (fire), code blue (medical emergency), code pink (child missing), code violet (violence).
- assist in patient transfers, stretchers, wheelchair movement as required during emergencies.
- operate fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and follow disaster evacuation protocols.
- report and document incidents, altercations, suspicious activity without delay.
4. asset & inventory protection
- ensure safety of hospital equipment, pharmacy stock, medical records & cash points.
- monitor inward/outward material through proper gate pass registers & vendor validation.
- prevent theft, vandalism, property misuse or damage to hospital assets.
5. cctv & documentation
- monitor cctv surveillance room and maintain observation logs.
- update daily incident book, visitor logs, fire drill checklists & handover reports.
- coordinate with admin, nursing, technical, and maintenance departments for security support.

- alertness, disciplined appearance & strong observation skills
- polite communication with patients, staff & attendants
- ability to work under pressure & respond quickly to emergencies
- physically fit with capability to stand/move for long hours
- knowledge of fire safety, access control & basic first aid (preferred)
qualification & experience
- minimum 10th / 12th qualified.
- ex-servicemen or trained security personnel preferred.
- 1–3 years’ experience in hospital/security background desirable.
- should be comfortable working in rotational shifts (day/night).
