Core Responsibilities
Most sales roles follow the Sales Lifecycle, which is often divided into these four stages:
1. Lead Generation & Prospecting
Outbound Outreach: Using LinkedIn, cold calling, and personalized emails to find potential buyers.
Inbound Handling: Responding to leads who have signed up on the website or attended a webinar.
Social Selling: Building a professional presence online to attract clients naturally.
2. Discovery & Consultation
Qualifying: Asking deep questions to see if the prospect has the BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, and Timeline) to buy.
Product Demos: Showing exactly how the product works in a way that relates to the client's specific problems.
3. Negotiation & Closing
Objection Handling: Addressing concerns about price, competitors, or technical features.
Contracting: Working with legal and finance teams to finalize terms and get a signature.
4. Relationship Management
Post-Sale Support: Ensuring the client is happy and looking for opportunities to upsell (sell a better version) or cross-sell (sell related products).
