Job Description

The roles and responsibilities of selected professionals include the following:

Farmers Producers Organization (FPO) formation and registration or FPO strengthening

Strengthening Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMCs), revitalization, capacity & training, Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) revitalization and strengthening for their participation in the project.

Alternate livelihood promotion in agrarian community such as livestock rearing, Bee keeping, farm and agroforestry, medicinal plantation, etc.

Supporting the collectives on:

i. Forest produces (NTFPs), harvesting and value addition and strengthening supply chain

ii. Precision farming and crop rotation etc.

iii. Non farming activities derived from the baseline survey and detailed project report iv. Pastureland development, Agro-forestry, and Horticulture, etc.

v. Organic farming and certification

vi. Marketing and value addition of agriculture produce and organic produce and products.

the Non-Pesticide Management (NPM) Agriculture Programme of SPS;

Establish ways of improving the participation of small and marginal farmers in agricultural markets so that they get a fair deal in these markets;

Work closely with women farmers and help build strong and vibrant peoples institutions, led by women;

Engage with rural communities and co-ordinate work of the village community, the PRIs and government agencies;

Assist in the development of training material to be used in the empowerment programme of the Baba Amte Center for Peoples Empowerment.
