Retail Pharmacist Job Responsibilities

Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medicines accurately

Verify prescriptions for correctness, dosage, and possible drug interactions

Counsel customers on proper medication use, dosage, side effects, and storage

Ensure medicines are supplied according to legal and ethical standards

Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and checking expiry dates

Store medicines properly as per temperature and safety requirements

Handle billing, cash, and digital payments when required

Keep records of prescriptions, sales, and controlled drugs

Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations

Assist customers with health-related queries and recommend OTC products when appropriate

Monitor adverse drug reactions and advise customers to consult doctors when needed

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy

Coordinate with doctors, suppliers, and healthcare representatives
