• perform the requisite nursing activities for admission, discharge, and transfer of the patient.
• to render nursing care during physiotherapy, ambulation and rehabilitation of patients as required.
• administration of medications (as prescribed), injections, infusions, transfusions, an application of surgical dressing etc. to the patient
• render pre-operative, post-operative intensive care to the patients in the area.
• observing, recording and reporting of all tests, diagnostic/therapeutic procedures and vital signs . tpr and blood pressure.
• she will be responsible for communication with the patient’s attendants/relatives about the patient’s clinical conditions in consultation with the treating doctor whenever needed.
• carryout technical procedures such as naso-gastric intubation, gastric savage and lavage, oxygen therapy, surgical dressing and irrigation, enema, catheterization hot and cold application, suction etc.
• to ensure proper coordination with other disciplines in case of admission, discharge, transfer, shifting to cath lab/ot/critical care area/wards.
• assist doctors in performing medical and emergency procedures.
• to ensure that the equipment and accessories to be used on patient are checked before usage.
• to ensure the personal property are handed over to the relative once patient get admitted.
• to demonstrate skills in patient assessment, doctors round, medication administration, documentation and equipment handling.
• to ensure that the privacy of patient is maintained during the entire course of treatment, procedure, investigation and during transport.
• to ensure all the information regarding patient to patient rights, treatment information and patient safety is not compromised for each and every admitted patient.
• to effectively interface with patients/attendants/physicians/other service users with high level of responsiveness.
